Description
Our latest XW tubeless compatible clincher range has been developed to enjoy the benefits of using wider 25mm to 28mm tyres without compromising aerodynamic performance in real world conditions. Intended for use in TT and Triathlon but with superb handling characteristics are also suited to road racing or fast training.
The generous 21mm inner rim track of the XW models result in an improved tyre to rim interface keeping airflow disruption to a minimum as the wheel penetrates the air. Increased internal tyre volume enhances comfort and control while reducing the potential for pinch flats if running with inner tubes as the tyre sits more inline with the outer rim.
Manufactured using FWS technology results in an evenly balanced, lighter, stiffer rim which is handbuilt onto DT Swiss hubs using Sapim CX Ray spokes to produce a high quality Pro level performance wheelset.
TYRE RECOMMENDATION
A highly versatile rim design allows a great general aerodynamic compatibility using a tyre width range from 23mm to 28mm. Due to the wide inner rim track inflated tyres will sit between 1.5mm to 2.5mm wider than indicated depending on tyre brand. Wider tyres can be safely supported up to 45mm but will come with an aerodynamic penalty.
