Description
Tyre choice is made easier thanks to our latest 21mm internal XWide rim profile supporting an aero efficient interface running tyre widths from 23mm up to 28mm with only a marginal drag penalty using the increasingly popular wider 28mm option. Wider tyres have increased tyre volume so run at lower pressures to achieve the same Crr while improving traction on imperfect road surfaces, enhancing handling and comfort as well as reducing the risk of puncturing. Note that due to our wide internal rim that tyres will typically sit approximately 2mm wider than stated tyre size when inflated.
The Asymm’s method of construction involves the precise bonding of carbon fibre disc skins onto a dedicated spoked wheel featuring our full carbon XWide tubeless compatible clincher rim. At the heart of the wheel we use a DT Swiss 240 EXP hub unit, superb quality and durability with our option to upgrade to Ceramicspeed coated bearings, the absolute ultimate in rolling efficiency. This spoked wheel method allows a degree of vertical compliance for a more familiar feel and reduces vibration fatigue further, something welcomed for longer Triathlon events where a Marathon distance run may follow.
